Lab 101
Everything the Lab can do, what it costs, and the tricks the interface doesn’t spell out. Five minutes here saves a lot of Brainpoints.
01Start here — the loop
Burning a token destroys it permanently and pays out Brainpoints (BP) and Stamps. You spend those in the Lab to modify the tokens you keep — new bodies, outfits, effects, companions. Every modification makes the token more valuable to burn (and to sell), and the loop continues.
New here? Start with the big ☢️ NUKE button at the top of the Lab — pick the rarity you want to roll for and go. Every other action lives right beneath it under Advanced.
02Burning — where BP comes from
- Every burn pays a base set by the token’s court Standing — from 100 BP (Noted / untried) up to 200 BP (Death Sentence). Both extremes of the court’s opinion pay more than the middle.
- +50 BP for every Evolution the token carries (each committed Lab modification). A heavily-evolved token is a heavy burn. Trait-Bank grafts redeem +25 each instead — exactly their apply cost, so cycling traits can’t print BP.
- Zeitgeist tokens (ids 9901–10000) burn for a flat 4,000 BP.
- Stamps come from the token’s entire history — one stamp per distinct stamp-yielding trait it has ever carried. Rolled three different weapons over its lifetime? Three weapon stamps. A variant wiped by a rebody still pays its stamp. (The same trait worn across many versions counts once; Rare/Epic tier stamps come from the current Rarity Tier only.)
- The jackpot: every burn rolls it. The pool starts at 100 BP and grows +25 per burn and +100 per day; the win odds scale with the pool — a fat pot really is more likely to pop. Winner takes everything; the pool resets.
- The burn screen previews your exact yield before you commit — no surprises. Burns are permanent.
03Stamps — the unlock keys
Stamps gate the premium Lab actions. Burn a token carrying the matching trait to earn one. Account-bound, non-tradeable.

- The fee covers the AI generation + the built-in verification of every result. Pay per action or pre-load credit to skip the wallet popup. Rolls deal six options; you pick one — or none.
- BP and stamps only charge when you COMMIT. Walk away from a roll and you’re out only the fee.
- Combine tweaks: the ⚡ toggle rolls several quick tweaks in one generation — summed BP, a single fee.
- If a generation completely fails, everything auto-refunds. If a single tile fails (✕), it gets a free per-slot retry.
05Nukes — pick the tier you’re hunting
Nuke and Body Roll let you choose the body rarity you’re rolling for. You land in your chosen tier ~92% of the time, with an 8% chance of jumping one tier higher.
| Tier | BP | Needs |
|---|---|---|
| Common | 50 | nothing |
| Uncommon | 100 | nothing |
| Rare | 150 | a Rare stamp — unless your token is already Rare+ |
| Epic | 200 | an Epic stamp — unless your token is already Epic+ |
- Your token’s own tier (and everything below it) never needs a stamp. Stamps only gate rolling above your tier — and they’re spent on top of the BP, never instead of it.
- Mythic surprise: hand-designed 1-of-1 Mythic bodies can drop on any Nuke — roughly 1-in-500 on Common/Uncommon tier, 1-in-250 on Rare, 1-in-100 on Epic. What an unclaimed design looks like is a secret until someone pulls it.
- A new body can only raise your token’s Rarity Tier — tier is a high-water mark, it never downgrades.
- A rebody (Nuke / Body Roll / full Custom) wipes any material or variant layer from the current look — but the layer stays in the token’s history: it still pays its stamp at burn (or can be banked), and time travel can always wear it again.
06The Trait Bank — keep what you burn
- When burning, reserve traits into your vault (/bank) instead of losing them — then graft them onto another token later for 25 BP each.
- Flat pricing, paid by the burn: every banked trait costs 10 BP, taken only from that burn’s own BP. Once the burn’s BP is fully spent, the rest of the traits are free — your balance is never charged. Every action or nuke adds +50 BP to a token’s burn value, which is what funds banking what it landed.
- The whole timeline is claimable: you can reserve any trait the token has ever worn — every version, every abandoned branch — not just what it wears now. Past-form traits are tagged in the picker. Applied the same trait more than once (took it off and put it back, or stacked it)? It’s claimable that many times — one copy per genuine application, each its own claim. Time-travel re-wears don’t count.
- Reserving any stamp-yielding trait (weapon, companion, costume, material, variant — current or past-form) forfeits the stamp that burn would have paid for it. You take the trait or the stamp, never both.
- Gen 1 anatomy (torso, lower body, wings, containment) never rolls — banking it from a burned Gen 1 token is the only way to move it. Ultra exclusive by design.
- Banked capped traits keep their edition slot while vaulted — nobody can snipe it.
07Pro tips — the stuff nobody tells you
Custom has a TRIAL mode: no BP, just the render fee. Unlimited stamp picks, five concept renders, downloadable images — and a PLAN button that maps the cheapest real Lab actions to build your design. Design first, spend later.
On a Companion roll focused to Shoulder riders, the LAST of the six options renders many tiny copies of the rider instead of one — a collectible "(Swarm)" outcome. Trait-Bank applies of shoulder riders offer a swarm option too.
An Accessory roll left on "Any" has a small chance of dealing a body mod (glass stomach, laser eyes, extra arm…). Body mods stack — a second one becomes "Body Mod 2" and each layer is individually removable.
Some banked cosmetics (Trapper Hat, Heart-shaped Sunglasses…) offer a special STYLED rendering as the third apply option — a distinctive look for the same trait.
Rebuild re-paints the token exactly as it is from its own prompt — no trait changes, no evolution. The cheap fix when art gets soft after many edits.
Heavily-evolved tokens unlock a $2 premium re-render: two crisp 2K reconstructions by a stronger model, anchored to your exact traits. Takes 3–5 minutes.
Every version is saved forever. Open the ⏱ Time Machine, browse every look, and WEAR any of them — it copies to the top of your history. And any trait your token has ever worn belongs to it forever: re-wearing it is never blocked by edition caps.
Every new trait is a limited edition (Epic bodies cap at 15, Mythics at 5). When it sells out it stops rolling forever — if you love something in the Library, secure it before the supply bar fills.
Zeitgeist tokens keep their identity: Nuke, Body Roll and Trait Roll are locked for them. The Zeitgeist Swap is their re-body — and they burn for a flat 4,000 BP.
The AI provider's safety filter occasionally refuses a token's artwork (usually a copyrighted-lookalike). The free retry often clears it; if it keeps blocking, a Nuke regenerates from scratch and fixes it for good.
08Legendaries
- Human-made one-of-ones by commissioned artists. Only 25 will ever exist — and once all are claimed, owning a Legendary is the only way a new one is ever minted.
- A Legendary’s art is permanent. New commissions join its lineage — the original is never overwritten.
- Legendaries yield NO Brainpoints from burning — do not burn one. They redeem 5,000 BP only when transferred back to Nuclear Samurai.
09Your token on OpenSea
Committed art + metadata are canonical immediately; OpenSea is poked after every commit. BRAINROTs are rolling out as interactive cards on the OpenSea item page: the front is your art — flip it to see the piece’s live burn value, the stamps it yields, its full transformation history, and its Trait Bag (every trait it has ever carried, all claimable at burn). The card updates itself the moment you modify the token.
10FAQ
- Can I undo a modification?
- Yes — time travel. Every version of your token is saved forever: open the ⏱ Time Machine, browse every look, and WEAR any of them. Nothing is ever deleted. BP, stamps and fees already spent stay spent.
- What if I walk away from a roll?
- Token unchanged, Brainpoints untouched — you’re out only the roll fee. BP and stamps only charge when you commit.
- What does the fee cover?
- Image generation plus the built-in AI verification of every result — the style, the background, and that the traits you’re shown actually made it into the image.
- Are Brainpoints tradeable?
- No. Soul-bound.
- Can I burn any token?
- Any except Legendaries (they yield nothing — transfer those back to Nuclear Samurai for 5,000 BP instead). Yes, including your best ones.
- Something charged but nothing happened?
- Abandoned fees auto-refund as credit within ~15 minutes. If anything else looks stuck, ask Kathy (the chat bubble) or ping the team — nobody legitimate will ever ask for your seed phrase.
